The Geneva Times was launched in late 2007 as a general information magazine for expatriates in Geneva under the initiative of an American-Swiss writer and editor. The objective was to create an attractive, informative publication that would act as a guide for the English-speaking community and keep readers abreast of what was happening in and around Geneva politically and culturally.

Under new management in 2010, the Geneva Times continues to be a reference for resident expatriates. However, with an expanded travel & leisure section, the publication has widened its appeal, attracting international readers planning to visit the region or simply interested in learning more about Switzerland and the neighbouring Ain, Haute-Savoie and Jura departments in France.

The Geneva Times works with professional freelance journalists who are experts in the subjects they write about. Most are local. We have a strong base of regular contributors. Nonetheless we are always on the look out for fresh talent to provide new perspective and keep us current.

We write about local news events and address the social concerns of both the expatriate and indigenous population with timely editorials. On a lighter note, we also provide content about holiday destinations, as well as articles on regional entertainment and diversions. We have also been known to share shopping tips and reviews of local products. Lastly, the Geneva Times is proud to support creative writers in our “Imaginings” section, a place where poetry and prose about our region finds a welcoming home.
